Turkey announced on Saturday that it had allowed users to access Instagram again after the firm consented to work with law enforcement to allay concerns expressed by the government. Due to the social media platform's noncompliance with Turkish "laws and rules" and public sensibilities.
Turkey restricted access to it on August 2. A senior Turkish official said that Instagram was preventing messages expressing sympathy for the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
Turkey, which has over 57 million Instagram users, comes in fifth place globally in terms of user base, behind the US, Brazil, India and Indonesia.
Users and small businesses who utilise the site to reach their clients protested about the nine-day restriction. Israel's attacks on Gaza have been condemned by Turkey, which has demanded an immediate ceasefire.
